HSV Celebrates Build of its 85,000th Vehicle

Hot on the heels of the recent release of three limited edition models, Australia’s leading performance car manufacturer, HSV, is recognising yet another significant milestone in its proud history.

On June 6, 2016, HSV’s lifetime production figure reached 85,000 vehicles, when a supercharged GEN-F2 ClubSport R8 LSA rolled off the Clayton production line.

HSV’s oldest Dealership, Garry and Warren Smith in Oakleigh, Victoria, will be the lucky recipient of this very special vehicle.

Accompanying the ClubSport R8 LSA will be a unique build plate acknowledging its milestone status, while the eventual owner (the vehicle is currently un-sold) will receive a “letter of authenticity” signed by HSV’s Managing Director, Tim Jackson.

“From humble beginnings at our Notting Hill production facility in 1987, with just three employees, a single desk, two chairs and one telephone, to the production of our 85,000th vehicle, we are constantly reminded of the dedication and passion our employees, dealers and owners continue to show” said Jackson. “This is a milestone that can be proudly shared by them all.”

Other notable production milestones in HSV’s near 29 year history include:

• The 5,000th HSV built was an HSV VN T30, (the forerunner to the ClubSport) built in June 1991
• The 20,000th HSV built was a Senator, built in April, 1997
• The 40,000th HSV built was a ClubSport, built in August, 2003
• The 50,000th HSV built was a ClubSport, built in July, 2006
• The 75,000th HSV built was a ClubSport, built in February, 2013
• The 80,000th HSV built was a ClubSport R8, built in September, 2014
