Meet Robbie Maddison

Robbie likes to joke that he was born on a bike and came into the world doing a no-hander onto the delivery table. It's not far from the truth.

He started riding at age four and racing at six, and became Australia's national amateur champion at 16. "I had to make a tough decision about whether to turn pro and try to make a go of it on the professional racing circuit," he says. "In the end, I took an apprenticeship as an electrician instead. Then, one day in 2002, I'm looking in a magazine and I see pictures of a few of my old heroes doing this new sport of FMX, just crazy stuff. I got out on my bike and started messing around with some old tricks and trying some new ones and I was hooked."

He and his motorcycle have been bending the laws of physics ever since, jumping over, on, off or through some of the most incredible things your mind can imagine. He's jumped over a football field, held world records for longest distance jumped on a motorcycle, he jumped onto a replica of the Arc de Triomphe, then just for fun, jumped back down. He back flipped over the opened Tower Bridge in London, leapt over 300 feet across the Corinth Canal and jumped close to 400 feet over the San Diego Harbour with friend Levi Lavallee on a snowmobile next to him.

Robbie Maddison

Most recently, Robbie set out to blur the lines of what's been done before and what's only been dreamt of. In an attempt to fulfil a 3-year long 'pipe dream', he rode his dirt bike on the powerful and iconic waves of Tahiti.

Since joining HSV as a brand ambassador, Robbie’s vehicle of choice has been a ute. In his HSV, Robbie takes a back seat to no one!
