Meet Greg Murphy

Like most V8 Supercar drivers, Murph started out in karts before moving into V8 Supercars. He moved from New Zealand to Australia to race Formula Holden open-wheelers and began to race with Audi Sport Australia while competing in V8 Supercar endurance events with Craig Lowndes and the Holden Racing Team.

In 2001, Murph joined the Kmart Racing Team where he stayed until the end of 2004. During this period, Murph won Bathurst a third and fourth time in 2003 and 2004. At the time, his 2003 Bathurst qualifying lap time of 2.06.8594 was the fastest lap ever recorded at the Mount Panorama Circuit. Colloquially referred to as “The Lap of the Gods”, it is widely regarded as one of the finest moments in Bathurst folklore.

Today, Murph is a prominent motorsport media commentator on both sides of the Tasman, and, we’re proud to acknowledge him as an official HSV ambassador.
